Module to be used with 2/3-axis lathe machines up to the more complex 5/6-axis lathe machines with a swivelling head.

DESIGN

PEGASUS CAD-CAM includes 2D and 3D CAD modules for the drawing, editing and transformation of 2D and 3D geometric entities.
2D CAD

Tool Tables

The software is provided with a specific environment to manage the tools archives. The user, depending on his equipment, can archive his tools in one or more tool tables that can be arranged and customized depending on his needs. Furthermore, the user can define a tool holder from a drawn or imported profile.

Supported tools:
triangular and round turning tools, cylindrical, spherical and toroidal cutter, horizontal disk, shape tool (defined by the user), drill and engraver.

2 AXIS LATHE MACHININGS

Module dedicated to machines that handle only 2-axis turning tools.

  • Roughing: debarking, roughing from a 2D section, pocketing, parallel steps roughing
  • Finishing: finishing from 2D section.

3/4 AXIS LATHE MACHININGS

3 and 4-axis non-plus versions allow the processing of objects and models starting from a simple 2D representation. Curves or geometries can be extracted from 3D imported models by a set of simple functions.
3 AXIS LATHE

This module suits machines with turning tools and additional turrets of debarking, sanding and 2-axis sculptor. It includes all functions of the 2-axis module, plus the following finishing and details machinings:

  • detail machinings: linear or wrapped grooves finishing, linear or wrapped facets finishing, projected or wrapped curves finishing for texts and decorations, curve finishing on revolution, along section helicoidal finishing, vertical section groove and groove between 2 section finishing, axial drill, contouring and fluting;
  • leg machinings: profiling, plane profiling, fillet profiling, chamfer profiling.
4 AXIS LATHE

Module that suits machines with turning tools and additional turrets of debarking, sanding and 3-axis sculptor or indipendent 3-axis head.
It includes all the functions of the 3-axis module plus the following machinings on plane: contouring, drill tap/hole, fluting, pocketing, engraving, face milling, curve finishing on plane.

3/4 AXIS PLUS AND 5/6 AXIS MACHININGS

3/4-axis Plus versions and the 5/6-axis versions allow the working of sculpted objects or objects with artistic details based on three-dimensional models.

3 AXIS LATHE PLUS

The 3-axis Plus version provides the possibility to make additional machinings with the interpolated lathe.

4 AXIS LATHE PLUS

The 4-axis Plus version provides the possibility to make the same machinings as the 3-axis one, plus indexed lathe machinings.

5/6 AXIS LATHE

The 5/6-axis version is the most complete of the set, it includes the functions of the previous versions plus the 5/6-axis machinings with interpolated and indexed lathe.

  • SWARF machinings (5 axes + lathe)
  • Finishing along guide curves with indexed and interpolated lathe (5 axes)

SIMULATION

PEGASUS CAD-CAM is bundled with an integrated graphic simulation environment for the immediate verification of the machining result on the material. It is possibile to verify all kind of machinings, from 2 up to 4 axes, both with conventional tools and shape tools defined by the user, with collision checking on both the stock material and the finished model. Two simulation modes are available: toolpath (showing only the tool trace) and material removal.

MACHINE SIMULATION

Post processor

This is an integrated module to convert the applied toolpaths into the language of the specific CNC. Usually there are one or more custom post-processors available for the machines present in a workshop.
